Petnet, Inc. (“Petnet”) collects your information at Petnet.io and its subdomains, and through Petnet’s mobile applications (collectively, our “Site”) in several ways. This information is used to provide users with Petnet products and services, to allow us to understand how visitors navigate our Sites, and to provide advertising that is relevant to your interests.
1. Purchase and Log-In Information.
If you purchase Petnet products from our Site, we request that you provide your name, email address, billing and shipping address, credit card information, and any other information necessary to complete the transaction. If you create a Petnet account, your name, billing and shipping address, and the last four digits of your credit card information can be stored. We do not collect or store your full credit card information. Our credit card processing service provider, Stripe, will collect and store full payment card information from you, even as a guest user, when an order is placed until when it ships. If you create a Petnet account and elect to have payment card information saved, Stripe will store your payment information.
2. Mailing List Information.
You may choose to submit your email address via a submission form located on our Site so that we may send you news about Petnet-related services, products, or promotions. We may use one or more service providers to administer these messages, but we do not share your email address with spammers or any other third parties without your permission.
3. Device Usage information.
If you are logged into your Petnet account, we record the IP address you visit our Site from and any adjustments you make to your SmartFeeder product or other Petnet products through the Site interface. We store this data along with your email address, information about your Petnet products, and data collected by your SmartFeeder product, including the following:
We collect data from several sensors within the SmartFeeder and SmartBowl to accurately detect the food levels remaining in both the food container and the bowl. These sensors include weight, motion and infrared signals. These sensors allow us to properly notify you when the SmartFeeder gets low on food or prompt you when it detects more food has been added.
Feeding Usage Information:
Every time a feeding is executed, Petnet records the time and the amount of food that was dispensed in order to offer you features such as usage history and SmartDelivery of Food products.
Technical Information From Device:
In order to improve your experience and help troubleshoot any problem you may encounter with Petnet Smart Products we record your device’s model and serial number, software version, and technical information such as battery charge level and wifi signal strength.
Geo Location Data:
In order to help distinguish between issues such as widespread or localized outages, Petnet Smart Devices use WiFi signal data such as strength and surrounding wifi signals to provide a relative location of the device.
4. Website Use Information.
Like many websites, we and our third party partners analyze log file information and other data collected through cookies, web beacons, and other tracking technology, to collect information about your browsing behavior when you visit our website, including for example, your browser type, domains, page views, IP address, referring/exit pages, information about how you interact with our Site’s webpages and with third party links, traffic and usage trends on the service, etc. We use session cookies to keep you logged in while you use features of our web application, which disappear after you close your browser. We also use persistent cookies, which stay in your browser and allow us to recognize you when you return to the Site. We use this to remember your information so you will not have to re-enter it, to better understand how you use our Site, to diagnose and fix technology problems, and otherwise enhance our services. In some of our email messages, we use a “click-through URL” linked to content on the Site. We track this click-through data to help us measure the effectiveness of our customer communications. We also use third party analytics tools (including Google Analytics) to assist us with analyzing and improving our Site and our products and services. Most internet browsers automatically accept cookies, but you may be able to change the settings to stop accepting cookies or to prompt you before accepting a cookie from the websites you visit. If you set your browser to reject cookies, parts of our Site may not work for you. Please note, depending on your type of device or browser, it may not be possible to delete or disable all tracking mechanisms.

8. Data Sharing.
Under no circumstance do we share your contact information for any commercial or marketing purpose unrelated to the delivery of Petnet products and services without asking you first. We do not rent or sell our customer lists. Our service technicians and other Petnet employees have supervised access to your information so they can answer your questions if you contact us for help and so they can monitor our servers for technical problems. We share your information with our service providers, vendors, and consultants that perform services on our behalf in connection with delivering or improving Petnet products and services, which could include identifying and serving targeted advertisements, content or service fulfillment, billing, or providing analytics services. Our service providers will be given access to your information only as is reasonably necessary to provide the service under reasonable confidentiality terms. Except as described herein, we will only provide personally identifiable information about our users to a third party if required to do so by law, or in the good-faith belief that such action is necessary to comply with state and federal laws or respond to a court order, subpoena, or search warrant.
Petnet uses commercially reasonable physical, administrative, and technological methods to transmit your data securely including HTTPS, SSL, and 128bit encryption. The data is stored using Amazon’s S3 cloud service and Compose. However, Petnet cannot guarantee that unauthorized third parties will never be able to defeat our security measures or use your personal information for improper purposes. In the event that any information under our control is compromised as a result of a breach of security, we will take reasonable steps to investigate the situation and where appropriate, notify those individuals whose information may have been compromised and take other steps, in accordance with any applicable laws and regulations.
10. International Considerations.
We rely on the following legal grounds to process personal data:
For users within the United States, we process data in data centers located in the United States. We have adopted reasonable physical, technical, and organizational safeguards against accidental, unauthorized, or unlawful destruction, loss, alteration, disclosure, access, use, or processing of user data in our possession. We comply with state and federal laws governing the protection of personal information.
For EU Individuals: Your Rights under the General Data Protection Regulation
For users within the European Union, we transfer data from the European Union to data centers located in the United States for processing. Such processing is performed in accordance with Regulation 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of April 27, 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and free movement of such data, known as the General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”). This includes the imposition of required safeguards with respect to accidental, unauthorized or unlawful destruction, loss, alteration, disclosure, access, use or processing of data. Transfers of European Union user data to processors in the United States are made in accordance with principles of the EU-US and Swiss-US Privacy Shield Framework, as explained below.
If you are in the EU, you have the right to:
request an accounting of all personal information that we possess that pertains to you in an electronically portable format (e.g., electronic copies of information attached to an email).
request that we change any personal information that pertains to you.

With respect to personal data received or transferred pursuant to the Privacy Shield Frameworks, Petnet is subject to the regulatory and enforcement powers of the U.S. Federal Trade Commission.
Pursuant to the Privacy Shield Frameworks, EU and Swiss individuals have the right to obtain our confirmation of whether we maintain personal information relating to you in the United States. Upon request, we will provide you with access to the personal information that we hold about you. You may also may correct, amend, or delete the personal information we hold about you. An individual who seeks access, or who seeks to correct, amend, or delete inaccurate data transferred to the United States under Privacy Shield, should direct their query to firstname.lastname@example.org. If requested to remove data, we will respond within a reasonable timeframe.
We will provide an individual opt-out choice, or opt-in for sensitive data, before we share your data with third parties other than our agents, or before we use it for a purpose other than which it was originally collected or subsequently authorized. To request to limit the use and disclosure of your personal information, please submit a written request to email@example.com.
In certain situations, we may be required to disclose personal data in response to lawful requests by public authorities, including to meet national security or law enforcement requirements.
Petnet’s accountability for personal data that it receives in the United States under the Privacy Shield and subsequently transfers to a third party is described in the Privacy Shield Principles. In particular, Petnet remains responsible and liable under the Privacy Shield Principles if third-party agents that it engages to process the personal data on its behalf do so in a manner inconsistent with the Principles, unless Petnet proves that it is not responsible for the event giving rise to the damage.
Petnet commits to resolve complaints about your privacy and our collection or use of your personal information transferred to the United States pursuant to the EU-US and Swiss-US Privacy Shield Frameworks. EU and Swiss individuals with Privacy Shield inquiries or complaints should first contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
Petnet has further committed to refer unresolved privacy complaints under the Privacy Shield Framework to an independent dispute resolution mechanism, the BBB EU PRIVACY SHIELD, operated by the Council of Better Business Bureaus. If you do not receive timely acknowledgment of your complaint, or if your complaint is not satisfactorily addressed, please visit www.bbb.org/EU-privacy-shield/for-eu-consumers for more information and to file a complaint. 11. Retention and Deletion
We will only retain your personal information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected and processed, including for the purposes of satisfying any legal, regulatory, accounting or reporting requirements.
In some circumstances, we may anonymize your personal information so that it can no longer be associated with you, in which case it is no longer personal data.
Unless you delete your account, it is our policy to retain personal information for 13 months once such personal information is no longer necessary to deliver the Service and to delete such personal information thereafter. If you close your account with us, we will delete personal information associated with your account after three business days and completely remove it from all archives after 3 months.
Business and legal obligations require us to maintain certain information, for specific purposes, for an extended period of time. For example, we’ll retain payment processing information for tax accounting purposes and financial record keeping. Once the legal and regulatory obligations are met for the particular transactions, the data is deleted or anonymized within 3 months from completion of those obligations.
